How We Grow in Grand Rapids Urban Neighborhoods

No Doubt, We’re Growing, but How Exactly Are We Growing?

As a neighbor on Wealthy Street in Uptown for nearly 10 years, The Image Shoppe has a direct stake in how our neighborhoods are growing. As residents of Baxter, Rob and I personally do too, as well as many of our employees who live in close proximity to the Shoppe.

How We Grow Panel Discussion

As such, we are thrilled to be a part of a really cool event happening this Thursday, August 20 from 5-8 pm at Wealthy Theatre hosted by Equity Drinks, a grassroots networking group started by our friend Jeremy Moore that we support with brand and marketing assistance. This is an event that you do not want to miss, especially if you live or work in any of our city’s urban neighborhoods.

Wealthy Theatre

How We Grow is a collaboration with BL²END, OutPro and The Salon for a special edition of Equity Drinks that includes a community panel discussion on how we aim for economic prosperity for all in our Grand Rapids neighborhoods.

Residents Are Speaking Up

Long-time GR residents who live in some of our urban neighborhoods and have a stake in changes taking place will discuss their perspectives on how the changing neighborhood landscape has affected them and their neighbors. Residents will represent East Hills, Westside, Southwest, and Baxter neighborhoods.

Community leaders who are active in their work around equity will also be part of the discussion and will lead questions related to education, health, housing and economics/wealth accumulation. You too can let your voice be heard. If you attend this event, you will have an opportunity to ask questions and share comments.

Cool Organizations Make it Possible

Our friends from Spectrum Health, Bear Manor Properties, The Meanwhile Bar are sponsoring this event. We hope to see all of you there!
